Rally lets closed groups of people who know each other ask questions and vote anonymously. Anonymity is the core of the product, and this policy describes exactly what that does and does not mean.
Your email address (used to sign you in), the name you choose to display, the phone number you optionally provide so your groups can recognize you, the groups you belong to, the questions asked in them, and the votes cast. If you allow notifications, we store a push-notification token for your device.
Votes are stored pooled and unattributed: the record of what was answered is kept separately from the record of who has voted, and the two are not joined. No group member — including whoever asked the question — can see how any specific person voted through the app. This guarantee applies within the app: it cannot prevent people from discussing their votes outside it, and open-ended written answers may be recognizable by writing style, which the app warns about at the point of answering.
We do not sell your data. We do not show advertising. We do not send marketing messages. Rally itself sends no text messages — invitations travel person-to-person between members. Push notifications are only ever about activity in your own groups.
Members of a group can see each other's display names, phone numbers, and membership — that's what a closed group is. Nobody outside your groups can see anything about you. Access to underlying data that could theoretically re-identify a vote is restricted to abuse investigation, and is not exposed in any product interface.
Rally's data is stored with Supabase (our database provider) and sign-in emails are delivered via Resend. Both act as processors for us and do not use your data for their own purposes.
Email support@rallyvote.app from your account email to request deletion of your account. Anonymous votes already pooled into group results remain in those results — they contain nothing identifying you.
